What the standard installed price covers

A useful air-conditioning price must define its scope. The JL Aircon standard installation includes the matched indoor and outdoor units, the pipework allowance configured in the quote, white external trunking, outdoor floor feet, weatherproof sealing, pressure testing, evacuation, commissioning, controls handover and supported manufacturer warranty registration.

That scope suits a straightforward installation where the indoor unit is on or near an outside-facing wall, the outdoor unit can stand at low level, condensate can drain naturally and a suitable electrical supply is available. The quote asks about those points so a low headline price is not quietly transformed later.

The factors that move the price

The biggest product variable is output. A typical bedroom may match a 2.5 kW system, while a sunny garden room or large open-plan space may need materially more capacity. Choosing by floor area alone can understate glazing and solar gain, so the calculator also uses room type, sunlight and floor.

Installation variables are separate. Extra pipe length adds material and labour. An internal-wall position can make drainage more involved. A low wall bracket, condensate pump, difficult high-level access, stone drilling or a new electrical supply can all change the job. Every enabled allowance is visible in the breakdown and editable by the installer in admin.

How to compare quotes fairly

Compare like with like: exact indoor and outdoor model numbers, nominal output, sound level, Wi-Fi, warranty conditions, pipe allowance, outdoor mounting, electrical scope, commissioning and VAT. A cheaper proposal is not equivalent if several of those items are undecided.

Ask what happens after the survey. A sensible online figure remains subject to a technical check, but the check should confirm assumptions rather than introduce an unexplained bundle of extras. Deposits, payment and optional care

JL Aircon does not currently offer finance. The quote journey can show a customer-selected deposit and remaining balance, but it does not take a card payment online. If regulated finance is introduced later, its provider and full terms must be published before it appears as a customer choice.
